School Founding Documents

In 2007, parents living in the west-end area of Toronto wanted to establish a public school within the Toronto District School Board’s Alternative System.

Minutes of TDSB, March 11, 2009 giving the mandate for da Vinci school

Proposal prepared by the founding parents

“A school that would nurture children as a whole according to their developmental age, a healthy and harmonious environment free of media culture. A place to explore and learn. A place that fosters imagination. A place that relates learning to real life context. A place that brings one closer to nature. A place that provides continuum from grade to grade. A place that encourages parent and community involvement beyond the bake sales. A place that instills pride and belonging.”
