da Vinci and Lord Lansdowne Food Drive for Scott Mission

Our annual food drive to benefit The Scott Mission will be running from December 19-23. This week, families from both da Vinci and Lord Lansdowne can drop off donations in the bins in the front entry to the school (Robert street).

Food banks have been a life source for too many during the pandemic and they are in dire need of many items. You may have seen The Scott Mission on the other side of the fence near the Enchanted Forest or walked by if you are heading south on Spadina towards College. They do crucial work in the neighborhood including providing groceries, hot meals, and shelter beds to those in need.

Currently, there is a high demand for the following:

CANNED GOODS

  • Tuna
  • Pasta or tomato sauce
  • Spaghetti or pasta noodles
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned soup
  • Cereals
  • Mac & Cheese
  • Rice
  • Powdered milk
  • Snacks bar
  • Peanut butter

BABY ITEMS

  • Baby formula
  • Baby food
  • Baby cereal

They are also looking for warm clothing and winter items.

If anyone has questions, or would like to volunteer to help drop-off the donated items at the Mission on Friday, please email matanya.neiman@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone for your donations and support.
