Ash Class has been doing a lot of inquiry around seasonal changes, temperature, and the process of making maple syrup. They visited the Kortright centre and took the maple syrup tour, which was a great success and the children had a lot of fun! Ash Class also did an oral story called Manabhozo and the Maple Trees, which the children drew about. They also asked interesting questions, such as why don’t maple trees smell like maple syrup? I wonder if making syrup hurts trees? Why everybody likes maple syrup? and why there aren’t maple trees in the city? etc.
