Oak Class students explored a variety of prints by Inuit artists. Using this work as an inspiration, students designed their own prints. In a series of lessons, they experimented with different inks and colours. Then they chose 3 of their prints to make a triptych, which is a work of art made of 3 sections. The placement of each print in a triptych affects the way the whole work looks. It might create symmetry or asymmetry. Students learned about some key principles and elements of design such as repetition, variety, colour, line and the law of thirds. What do you see?
