Shakespeare for Kids Library Club @ Lillian H. Smith , 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturdays
Join us for storytelling adventures! Explore worlds of magic, witches, ghosts, silly mix-ups, and swordplay in some of the greatest stories ever told. Over six Saturdays, professional actors and educators from Shakespeare in Action theatre company lead kids ages 7-12 through Shakespeare’s plays, such as The Comedy of Errors, Henry IV, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, and Twelfth Night. Kids play drama games and read aloud from one to three scripts. The program is free. Registration begins October 1, 2015. Family Nature Walks at High Park

Amazing Animal Adaptations – November 7, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
We will be on the trail of some of the most amazing animals of High Park to learn how they do the things they do. Hawks, squirrels, chipmunks, stink bugs and raccoons are some of the cool creatures we will be talking about. After the walk, participants will be invited to join an optional field restoration planting session from 3 – 3:30 pm.

Orienteering – Family Nature Walk – November 21, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Forget your GPS! Find your way through our new orienteering course using a map and compass. Each station is an activity that teaches you about the natural ecology of the park. The Bata Shoe Museum’s Warm the Sole Sock Drive, November 1 – 30
The BSM is excited to kick off the “Warm the Sole Sock Drive” on November 1st –an annual fundraiser which collects socks for the Scott Mission. Socks are one of the first items people request when asking for assistance and are a staple of basic care for the homeless. Between November 1st and 30th visitors to the BSM are encouraged to bring a new pair of unworn socks for distribution to those in need by the Scott Mission. If you make a donation on a Saturday or Sunday during the drive you can visit the BSM for FREE that day. Santa Claus Parade, November 15, Sunday, parade starts at 12:30 p.m.
Since 1905, the Toronto Santa Claus parade has made its way through the streets of downtown Toronto. Today, the Santa Claus Parade is the longest-running children’s parade in the world. The parade begins at Christie Street and Bloor Street West. http://www.thesantaclausparade.com/
